LawLine: The NH Bar's free telephone legal advice service. LawLine is held on the second Wednesday of each month from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. To reach LawLine, call the New Hampshire Bar Association (toll free) at (800) 868-1212. Legal Advice & Referral Center (LARC): The mission of the Legal Advice & Referral
Center is to provide information, legal advice and referral
services to indigent residents of New Hampshire. LARC concentrates
its efforts in four areas of the law: family, public benefits
(including local welfare, food stamps, Medicaid, state welfare,
Social Security and unemployment compensation), housing (including
landlord/tenant matters) and consumer. While LARC represents
clients in court in certain limited cases, the primary focus is to
provide clients with advice, and counsel.
New Hampshire Legal Assistance (NHLA): NHLA is a non-profit law firm which provides legal advice and representation in civil matters to people who cannot afford to pay for a lawyer. It is staffed by attorneys and paralegal/advocates and provides a broad range of legal services.
